The decision of a breeder in selecting pairings of Sires and Dams, generally falls into one of two camps; the re-creationist (usually following line breeding model) or the developmental (usually following an out-cross model breeding model).  Thoughtful breeders realize however that the most successful programs can incorporate both approaches at selective times, and that is where this 2017 pairing of Cooper and Stormy finds its roots.  Following the pedigrees of sire and dam you will notice the influence of DC/AFC  Odysseys Kurzhaar v. Riverwoods ("Rip"), who is a third consecutive generation Dual Champion, through his sire DC Kurzhaar's Ruger v Haven, to his grand-sire DC Hillhaven's Hustler (HOF-89) - the all time leading producer of Dual Champion in GSP history.   Hustlers bloods is the common thread that binds throughout this pedigree, with injections of import lines (such as Pottsiepen, Hege Haus, and Wasserschling) for sharpness and prey drive, and crosses of field trial lines  (such as  Dixielands, Checkmate's and Big Oaks) for style and race.

These pups can be expected to be true to type following the sire's high genetic potency.

ABOUT

US

BALANCE.

That’s the focus of our breeding philosophy.

Mentally stable and physically sound, world class versatile sporting dogs - that anyone can hunt, train, and live with.

  * Early developing pups that show up loaded with natural ability and purposeful hunting instincts.

  * The intelligence and cooperation to finish early and easily.  The temperament and disposition to want to work for you.

*Correct conformation for handsome good looks and, a worry free lifetime of companionship

  * Dogs with the desire to light up the field and  shred the marsh, yet will remain admirably calm in the home.

That last one may be the most important to us.  It’s called the “switch” - the dogs ability to switch gears,  to realize his environment and adapt his behavior accordingly.  To fire it up for the hunt and then dial it back down when you return home.

We decided early on that breeding for the switch would play a key role in picking sires and dams.  All of our dogs live in our home, and we wanted to be sure that if we placed a pup with  you, that it would be a dog you would want to live with.

Success! Message received.
