If I had to describe Rowdy in one word, it would have to be BALANCE.   She is very calm in the home; while her enthusiasm for the hunt is relentless.  In the field or marsh her prey drive is awe inspiring; and all the while she remains biddable and cooperative.  She always hunts to produce game for the gun, yet exhibits the independence for a duck search that is second to none.  While obviously born to hunt, her conformation is especially correct, finishing First or Second in every AKC show outing. 

 

Rowdy is our first performance gun dog, and has been an endless joy to hunt, train and live with.  While she competes with great enthusiasm in NAVHDA and AKC events, she is heart and soul a hunting dog.    She has consistently produced game in her home state of Kansas, as well as Texas, California and Pennsylvania.   Rowdy’s hunting is marked with efficiency, intelligence, stamina and perseverance.  She exhibits an intense point, has an excellent nose and an uncanny ability to find game. She has a profound love for water, and a die-hard work ethic.  Rowdy was an immediate natural retriever.  Best of all, her sweet disposition continually wins the heart’s visitors.

 

Rowdy’s pedigree is a who’s who of  GSP greats.  Her Sire, VC Cadens Rowdy Rudy, is among the top NSTRA dogs of all time…of any breed.  Her mother is line breed to DC Hillhaven’s Hustler, the top producer of Dual Champions in the history of the breed, Rowdy’s dam is also a litter-mate to the great VC Shooting Starr’s Son of a Gun MH, NSTRA CH.

 

Rowdy was ran her NAVHDA Utility Test at the Kettle-Moraine Chapter in August, 2003.  She earned a Utility Test Prize I, 199 points.  She competed in the 2004 Invitational where she earned 186 points and just missed the title of Versatile Champion.  We expect to re-qualify for another NAVHDA Invitational, and work towards the AKC Master Hunter in the future.
