Text Box: We lost Rebel on New Years 2009. She fell threw the ice way out on the big lake chasing geese and couldn’t get back. When you hold the a new puppy in your hands you know somewhere in the back of your mind that this day will come, you but spend their whole life denying it. She was a great little dog, that gave us everything she had, and then she left. Your day came way too soon little girl, and you are greatly missed by all of us. We love you Rebs. Hunt’em up girl. I know we’ll hunt again on the other side.

From the moment we got Rebel home, we knew this one was going to be different…and boy was she ever.  What sets Rebel apart is her extraordinary intelligence and compelling desire to please you.  From the start, you only had to tell or show her something one time and she had it all figured out.  This has made training her especially enjoyable.  Our youngest, Sean Patrick, has done most of Rebel’s training with me.  She handles as honestly for him as she does for me…truly a cooperative dog. 

 

As for the field, she is quick, honest and very snappy.  She has a strong nose and a smart search.  Her points are sharp and impressive with great style and intensity.  Rebel is a natural backer.  She handles her birds very well, and is the local expert on Kansas quail.   Rebel has great prey drive and always shows a marked enthusiasm for the hunt while remaining naturally clam and mild mannered in our home.  Competing, training or hunting, Rebel’s work ethic is relentless and enthusiastic.

 

On the marsh she absolutely blossoms.  Quite and calm in the blind, she’ll sit and watch the sky patiently for next opportunity to retrieve.  Her independence and determination make for first rate water searches.   Rebel is a natural retriever and showed a marked love for water early, so it is no surprise she seems so at home on the marsh.

  *Her Sire, VC Cadens Rowdy Rudy MH,  is among the highest pointed dogs in NSTRA (6xCH) , who earned his VC at two and a half years old..

 

Rebel earned a NAVHDA Utility Test Prize I in 2003 and competed in the NAVHDA Invitational in 2004 where she missed by one single point.
